Program:
Akshaya Tritiya is a major springtime festival celebrated on the third lunar day (“Tritiya”) by Hindus. In Sanskrit, “Akshaya” means “never diminishing”, implying the long-lasting benefits from performing meritorious deeds on this day. Per our scriptures, this day is also associated with many momentous events over time, such as the birth of Mata Annapurna (Mother Goddess of Food), descent of holy river Ganga to the earth, and Lord Ganesha commencing transcription of the Mahabharata with Sage Vyasa. Akshaya Tritiya is considered auspicious for new beginnings, such as house warming, weddings, and investments. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped festively on this sacred day. Lakshmi puja will be performed followed by Hanuman Puja.
