Thursday March 19th is the Lunar New Year day for Hindus.

At KSHT we are celebrating the day with with Ganapati puja and the much awaited Panchanga Shravanam (listening to the Hindu almanac) which is considered a very auspicious start to the entire year.  Ugadi Pachadi will be distributed to devotees.  Ugadi pachadi contains the six tastes: sweet, bitter, sour, salty, spicy and acrid.  Human life is filled with the six tastes and we are reminded to accept all of them with a balanced mind.

Program is as follows:

(1) Ganapati Puja
(2) Panchanga Shravana – Listening to almanac forecast by janma rashi (birth astrological sign) for the Hindu New Year,  Parabhava Samvatsara

• You may sponsor the puja by making an Interac e-transfer to dycerin@gmail.com  You may also use your credit card/PayPal by clicking here  
• Sponsorship amounts are noted above.
• If you are unable to attend in-person, the puja may be sponsored and the puja will be performed in your family’s names in absentia.
• Please provide the names of the sponsor and spouse and gotra (if known) in the memo/notes field of the donation (if not previously provided).  When performing the sankalpa, the priest will recite to name of the sponsor and their spouse and also chant “and all family members” in Sanskrit to include blessings for all your family members.  Sponsorships received two hours before the program will be included in the sankalpa.  Please provide your mailing address for a tax receipt at year end  (receipts will be issued for cumulative annual donations totaling $100 and over). Thank you for your on-going support.
