We are pleased to offer special Aksharabhyasam ceremonies during Devi Navaratri on the following auspicious occasions:
Friday, October 16 – Moola Nakshatra
• 5:45 PM – Lalita Sahasranama Parayanam
• 6:30 PM – Aksharabhyasam
• 7:00 PM – Devi Puja
Saturday, October 17 – Saptami Tithi (7th day of Navaratri)
• 5:30 PM – Aksharabhyasam
• 6:30 PM – Hanuman Puja
These are among the most auspicious times for Aksharabhyasam, the traditional Hindu ceremony marking a child’s initiation into learning and education. Parents may register their child using the following link: karya-siddhi-hanuman-temple.square.site/ Sponsorship: $61 per child. The temple will provide a slate and chalk for the ceremony.
While Aksharabhyasam is traditionally performed for young children beginning their educational journey, older children who have not previously undergone this sacred rite are also welcome to participate. The ceremony includes a subtle form of mantra upadesam (mantra initiation), whose blessings are believed to guide and support the child throughout life. We warmly invite all families to participate in this blessed and spiritually uplifting occasion.
