Guru Purnima Celebrations
Satyanaryana Vrat Puja and Guru Puja
Wednesday July 29th, 2026
6:30 PM
Program:
Guru Purnima is traditionally celebrated by Hindus to revere their spiritual teachers. The word Guru is derived from two root words in Sanskrit, i.e., Gu (darkness or ignorance) and Ru (remover of the darkness). Therefore, one who leads us from darkness (ignorance) to light (jnana/knowledge) is known as Guru.
Please join us on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima for Satyanarayana Vrat Puja at 6:30 PM followed by Guru Puja.
Satyanarayana Vrat Puja is performed for the overall wellness in the family. Satyanarayana Puja is the worship of Lord Vishnu. Satyanarayana means the embodiment of truth. Hindus observe the Satyanarayana Vrat with reverence and piety and seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu for peace and prosperity. Performing Satyanarayana Puja on Purnima is considered particularity auspicious.
