Vasant Panchami – Saraswati Puja and Aksharabhyasa

Vasant Panchami is described as highly significant by Sages in our scriptures. According to the scriptures, Mother Saraswati incarnated on Vasant Panchami day from Lord Brahma’s mind. Hence, it is considered the best day for students to worship Mata Saraswati – the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, arts and music.  Vasant Panchami is an excellent day for auspicious activities.  Students can bring their laptops/books/school supplies and place by the altar to be blessed during the puja.

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM – Surya Namaskars and Aditya Hridayam chanting (in recognition of upcoming Rathasaptami)

10:00 AM – Saraswati Puja and Aksharabhyasa on auspicious occasion of  Vasant Panchami.  Devotees wishing to perform the Aksharabhyasa should bring a notebook and writing instrument, or slate and chaulk.

11:45 AM – Hanuman Chalisa chanting to 1:30 PM

• Please provide the names of the sponsor and spouse and gotra (if known) in the memo/notes field of the donation (if not previously provided).  When performing the sankalpa, the priest will recite to name of the sponsor and their spouse, and also chant “and all family members” in Sanskrit to include blessings for all your family members.  Sponsorships received two hours or more before the program will be included in the sankalpa.  Please provide your address for a tax receipt at year end (receipts will be issued for cumulative annual donations totaling $100 and over).
