Lord Dattatrēya Himself initiated the emperor Kartaveryarjuna into this worship. King Dasaratha and Lord Sri Rāma had also performed this puja. Sri Krishna had Dharmarāja perform it. \nBenefits \n\nAgha is sin. Anagha is one who removes sin. The sins that we commit throughout the day and night by thought\, word and deed obstruct our path to progress. DESCRIPTION:Subramanya Shashti\nWEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26th\, 7:00 PM\nProgram:\nLord Subrahmaṇya\, the son of Lord Śiva and brother of Lord Vināyaka\, is the ever young and handsome commander of the armies of the Dēvās and also the lord of war. He was born on Mārgaśira Śukla Ṣaṣṭhi (6th day of the lunar month of Mārgaśira) with Śivji’s aspect to liberate Dēvatās from the demon Tārakāsura. Hence the Mārgaśira Ṣaṣṭhi is dedicated to Lord Subrahmaṇya as Subrahmaṇya Ṣaṣṭhi or Skanda Ṣaṣṭhi. Subrahmaṇya Ṣaṣṭi Pūja and Vrat are highly efficacious for prosperity\, removal of Sarpa Dōṣa (affliction by/difficulties from snakes) and well being of children. \nKSHT is celebrating Subrahmaṇya Ṣaṣṭhi on Wednesday November 26th at 7:00 PM.  Please consider bringing your non-perishable donations for Erin food bank when you visit the Temple. \nSubrahmaṇya worship is performed in part by carrying “Kāvaḍis” (small bamboo yokes with Kalaśams attached in slings at each end) in a procession with devotion. DESCRIPTION:Magha Purnima Satyanarayana Vrat Puja\nSunday February 1st\n10:30 AM and 6:00 PM\nProgram:\nSatyanarayana Vrat Puja is performed for overall wellness in the family. Satyanarayana Puja is the worship of Lord Vishnu. Satyanarayana means the embodiment of truth. Hindus observe the Satyanarayana Vrat with reverence and piety and seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu for peace and prosperity.  Performing Satyanarayana Puja on Magha Purnima is considered especially auspicious. \nSatyanarayana Vrat puja will be performed at 10:30 AM and at 6:00 PM. \nSponsoring family will be able to perform detailed Satyanaryana Vrata led by the priest with puja materials supplied by the Temple. \n\nDevotees are requested to bring fruits and flowers for the Vrata.\nPlease arrive 30 minutes early; the Vrata will start promptly at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.\n\nPradhana (Main) Puja Sponsorship ($151): \nTemple will provide:  \n\nKalasha\, coconut\, cloth\, navadhanya\nBetel leaves & nuts\, dry dates\nFramed photo of Lord Satyanarayana to perform Puja and take home\nOther puja materials\n\nRegistration Details:  Register early – limited slots only.  Please text Manish Goel – 416-587-1577 or Venkat Narra – 647-859-8369 to reserve a slot.  Four members of each sponsoring family will be seated in designated area.  Additional family members can be seated in general seating area. \nPuja Sponsorship ($21):\nSponsoring family will be seated in general seating area and receive a puja chart and rice/flowers to perform the puja.  Note: Personal puja samagari is not permitted to be used at the temple. \nPlease note sponsorship opportunities for this program are as follows.  Please note in the memo field of your donation which timeslot your registration is for (morning or evening): \n1. Pradhana (Main) Puja Sponsor – $151  (Pradhana Sponsorship is not available in absentia) \n2. Puja Sponsor – $21 \n3. Annadana / Priti Bhoj – $101 \nSponsorship: \n\nYou may sponsor the puja by making an Interac e-transfer to dycerin@gmail.com  You may also use your credit card/PayPal by clicking here  \nSponsorship amount is noted above.\nIf you are unable to attend in-person\, the puja may be sponsored ($21) and the puja will be performed in your family’s names in absentia.\nPlease provide the names of the sponsor and spouse and gotra (if known) in the memo/notes field of the donation (if not previously provided).  When performing the sankalpa\, the priest will recite to name of the sponsor and their spouse and also chant “and all family members” in Sanskrit to include blessings for all your family members.  Sponsorships received two hours before the program will be included in the sankalpa.  Please provide your mailing address for a tax receipt at year end  (receipts will be issued for cumulative annual donations totaling $100 and over). Thank you for your on-going support.
