DESCRIPTION:Nutana (New) Yagnopavita Dharanam\nFRIDAY AUGUST 8 – 8:00 AM\nProgram:\nŚrāvaṇa Paurnami (the full moon day in the lunar month of Śrāvaṇa) is an important day in our calendar when Rakṣā Bandhan and Nūtana (New) Yajñōpavīta Dhāraṇam along with other celebrations are observed. It is on the Friday Aug 8th this year of 2025. \nNūtana Yajñōpavīta Dhāraṇam (wearing of a new Yajñōpavīta\, Janeu\, or the sacred thread) is the renewal and reaffirmation of our dedication to Gāyatrī Māta and revered R̥ṣis\, and must be performed by all who have had Upanayanam (the sacred thread ceremony). DESCRIPTION:Program: \nPlease join us on the auspicious occasion of Sravana Purnima for Vara Mahalakshmi Vrata at 6:00 PM followed by Satyanaryana Vrat Puja.  Our program is as follows: \n6:00 PM   Vara Mahalakshmi Vrata \n6:45 PM   Satyanaryana Vrat Puja – Katha (story) will be recited in Telugu.  An English copy of the katha will be shared. \n8:30 PM   Prasadam / Preeti Bhoj will be served \nSri Vara Lakshmi Vrata Puja is considered equivalent to worshiping all eight forms of Lakshmi Mata (Ashtalakshmi) and is believed to bestow good fortune\, prosperity and happiness to householders. \nSatyanarayana Vrata Puja is also performed for the overall wellness in the family. Satyanarayana Puja is the worship of Lord Vishnu. Satyanarayana means the embodiment of truth. Hindus observe the Satyanarayana Vrat with reverence and piety and seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu for peace and prosperity.  Performing Satyanarayana Puja on Purnima is considered particularity auspicious. \nSponsorship for both pujas is $31/family.\nSponsorship for Annadanna / Preeti Bhoj is $101. \nPuja sponsors can also order a puja kit which contains the puja samagri (ingredients) needed to perform the puja personally at the Temple.  With the puja kit\, the sponsor’s family will be able to perform the puja personally while Pandit ji recites the sacred mantras.  Sponsors can order the puja kit for one or both of these pujas by filling out the following form:  Puja Kit Order Form  The cost is $30 per puja kit.  When sending the funds for the sponsorship please also include the amount for any kit(s) ordered. \nSponsorship: \n\nYou may sponsor the puja by making an Interac e-transfer to dycerin@gmail.com  You may also use your credit card/PayPal by clicking here  \nSponsorship amount is noted above.\nIf you are unable to attend in-person\, the puja may be sponsored and the puja will be performed in your family’s names in absentia.\nPlease provide the names of the sponsor and spouse and gotra (if known) in the memo/notes field of the donation (if not previously provided).  When performing the sankalpa\, the priest will recite the name of the sponsor and their spouse and also chant “and all family members” in Sanskrit to include blessings for all your family members.  Sponsorships received two hours before the program will be included in the sankalpa.  Please provide your mailing address for a tax receipt at year end  (receipts will be issued for cumulative annual donations totaling $100 and over). Thank you for your on-going support.
