Vadamala Offering to Lord Hanuman
Significance:
When Hanuman was a child, he took a liking to the blazing sun and flew up to catch it. At the same time, Rahu Deva was racing to catch the Sun for an eclipse. In this race, Hanuman, being the son of Vayu (God of Wind), won with ease. In appreciation of Hanuman’s valor, Rahu Deva sanctioned a boon saying whoever worshiped Hanuman with food items made of urad dal (a favorite of Rahu Deva) in garland form, will get relief from ‘Rahu Dosha’ effects. We offer Vadamala to Lord Hanuman and seek blessings of Sri Hanuman and Rahu Deva.
